The Barn Swallow is the most widespread species of swallow in the world. It is found in Europe, Africa, Asia and Americas. Birds with blue upperparts, a long, deeply forked tails and curved, pointed wings can be seen both in open country and among man-build structures, which are for them perfect places to build characteristic cup nests.
